Abstract

The present invention is known as a violin support and contains a technical solution for the adaptation of a support to violins of different size. The same support fits sizes 1/2, 3/4, 4/4 and with changing of a rail 5 it can be used for 1/8, 1/4 and various sizes of viola. The support consists of three metal parts of aluminum plate: a first end piece 1 and a second end piece 3 with corresponding extension piece 2 which travels in a rail 5. The first end piece 1 is riveted in the rail 5. As lining, cellular rubber is glued to the surfaces of the support at the extension piece 2 and the rail 5. The foot parts of the end parts grasp the bottom edge of the violin when the support is in place. A linear retrograde motion is produced by a rubber thread 4 fastened in the end pieces 1, 3. For desired straight or slanted placement of the support, the end pieces can be turned into permanent position. This makes it possible to place the support back into the exact same position. For anatomical adaptation to the violinist's shoulder, the extension piece 2 is bendable. <IMAGE>
