A Fresnel field lens for a reflex camera has a range of focal lengths and comprises Fresnel stages consisting of surfaces 1, 2 of the two extreme focal lengths which merge continuously into one another in the peripheral direction by formation of a series of undulations. In a modification each convex surface 1, 2 is replaced by two inclined surfaces forming an inverted V shape or the two inclined surfaces may be transposed to form a shallow V-shape.
