Abstract
1,032,184. Supporting g loudspeakers. PHILIPS ELECTRONICS & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 30, 1964 [July 3, 1963], No. 26994/64. Heading H4J. [Also in Divisions E2, F1, F4 and H2] The invention is described as applied to an electric lamp but may be applied to a loudspeaker. A lamp 20 is combined with a support consisting of two parallel strips 11, 12 of magnetic material, e.g. stainless steel, the device incorporating further magnetic material for co-operating with the strips at variable positions along their length, the strips and the further material being permanently magnetized. The magnetic material on the device may be in the form of U-shaped magnets 22, 23 which may be enclosed in a cylindrical sleeve 21 carrying a rotatable tube at the lower end of which is a joint 45, the second limb of which carries a lamp 26 and reflector 27. The electric supply may be connected to the strips 11, 12, lead wires 24, 25 extending from the magnets 22, 23 to the lamp. The sleeve 21 may be recessed at the top to straddle the strips 11, 12.
