Abstract

In a method of making foamed concrete using a suspension of aluminium powder as the foaming agent, the suspension is made in a large quantity for a number of charges using neutral water, the portions required for the individual charges being removed from time to time after agitation of the stock suspension. The suspension may be formed from degreased aluminium powder and water at below 20‹ C. Preferably uniform distribution of the aluminium powder in the stock is maintained by continuous agitation and the removal of each individual portion is effected by an automatic measuring and dispensing device adapted to operate on a weight or volume basis.
