Description

The invention relates to a device and method for maintenance of a way bill and particularly of an electronic way bill.
Way bills are used in commercial transport operations to maintain data, such as work services related to transports performed by various means of trans- portation, such as lorries or articulated lorries. A typical example oftransport op- erations is earth-hauling transports, wherein earth or equivalent is picked up from an order point and transferred to a desired site.
Arrangements according to prior art have centralised way bills into fixed servers. Data on work services are stored directly on the servers and editing of the data afterwards is awkward, particularly from the actual work site.
Brief description Thus, it is an object of the invention to develop a device which allows for flexible and effortless maintenance of way bills. According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a mobile device for maintenance of a way bill, which device comprises a user interface, at least one processor and at least one memory containing computer program code, whereby at least one memory and computer program code are configured by at least one processor to make the de- vice perform functions comprising: maintaining data on work services which are related to one or more clients; showing on a display ofthe user interface an aggre- gated view of more than one work services which are related to a specific client; receiving via the user interface data on a new work service which is related to a specific client, the work services related to whom are shown on the display and adding the received data in the aggregate view.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for a mobile device for maintenance of a way bill, the method comprising: maintaining data on work services which are related to one or more clients; show- ing on a display of the user interface an aggregated view of more than one work services which are related to a specific client; receiving via the user interface data on a new work service which is related to a specific client, the work services related to whom are shown on the display; and adding the received data in the aggregate view.
Several advantages are achieved by the arrangement of the invention.
Way bills can also be maintained from the work site and vehicles. The work services in way bills can be edited afterwards from the work site and vehicles. A part of data required by the work services can be added automatically based on earlier work services.
Brief description of the drawings The invention will be now described in more detail in connection with preferred embodiments and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows an arrangement for maintaining way bills; Fig. 2 shows an example of a device according to the invention; Fig. 3 shows some measures performable with the device according to the invention; Fig. 4 shows an aggregated view of more than one work services which are related to a specific client; and Fig. 5 shows a specification window for a new work service.
Detailed description of the invention With reference to Fig. 1, an arrangement for maintaining way bills ac- cording to an embodiment is next described. The arrangement comprises a set of terminals 100, 102 which can be located e.g. in vehicles or be portable terminals carried by a driver. The terminals 100, 102 can be in connection with a server 104. Connections 106, 108 between the terminals and the server can be wireless or wired. The connections can be preferably implemented by means of a cellular radio network wirelessly using Internet connections. The technical implementation of the connections is not relevant for the invention.
Fig. 2 shows an example ofa device according to the invention. The de- vice can be the terminal 100, 102 of Fig. 1 or a part ofa terminal.
The device in Fig. 2 is a simplified representation of the device which is obvious to those skilled in the art. The device can also comprise other components and structures than those shown in the figure. The device is show as one object, but it is also possible to implement its functions by a combination of several de- vices, if required.
The device example 100 of Fig. 2 comprises a processor or a control circuit 200 which is configured to control the operation of the device 100 at least partially.
The device can comprise a memory 202 for storing data. The memory can also store software 204 which the processor or control circuit 200 can run. The memory 202 is functionally connected to the processor or control circuit 200 or it can be integrated to the processor or control circuit 200.
The device can comprise one or more coupling circuits 206. The cou- pling circuits are functionally connected to the processor or control circuit 200. The coupling circuit 206 can be a set oftransreceivers which can be configured to implement a data transmission connection to the server 104 e.g. by means of a cel- lular radio network, a wireless local area network or the Bluetooth® technology. The coupling circuit 206 can be connected to an antenna (not shown in the figures).
The device can additionally comprise a user interface 208. The user in- terface can comprise e.g. a display (which can be a touch screen), a microphone, a speaker, a keyboard. ln an embodiment, the software 204 comprises a computer program, based on which, the processor or control circuit 200 can implement the embodi- ments presented below and in the claims.
The device in Fig. 2 can be a mobile device, such as a mobile phone, a smart phone or a table computer, or a laptop computer or any mobile device which can implement the embodiments presented below and in the claims.
The device in Fig. 2 can be arranged to maintain a way bill and data on work services which are related to one or more clients. The device can be used to create client accounts and orders as well as work services. Entered transport ser- vices are stored under the client account / site, and an aggregate view of the en- tered data can be shown to the device user and the entered data can be edited dur- ing the work day. Transport services being different and billed differently can be entered by means of the device.
Data collected by the device 100, 102 can be transmitted to the server 104 for storing them in a data base.
Fig. 3 shows some measures performable with the device 100, 102. ln step 300, the device maintains data on work services which are re- lated to one or more clients. ln step 302, the device shows on a display of the user interface an ag- gregated view of more than one work services which are related to a specific client. ln step 304, the device receives data via the user interface on a new work service which is related to a specific client, the work services related to whom are shown on the display. ln step 306, the device stores the received data and adds the data to the aggregate view. ln an embodiment, the device is configured to receive data which are related to a work service shown in the aggregate view and update the data on the work service in the aggregate view based on received data.
Fig. 4 shows an aggregate view 400. The device can show the aggregate view 400 on the display ofits user interface 208.
The aggregate view comprises data 402 on the client, data 404 on the vehicle and data 406 on the work site.
The device is arranged to show in the aggregate view 400 more than one work service 408A-408F which relate to a specific client 402. Data related to the work service can comprise data 410 on the date and the vehicle 412. The vehi- cle can be a vehicle assembly which was used to transport the work service in ques- tion. Data related to the work service can additional comprise data 414 on the starting point and the destination of the transport, data 416 on the type of the load, data 418 on the work site, data 420 on the driven distance, data 422 on the quantity of the load, data 424, 424 on the start and end time.
For each piece of data on the work service it is possible to edit 428 the data on the work service.
The same aggregate view can show work services which include differ- ent vehicle assemblies. ln the example of Fig. 4, the vehicle in the work services is a tractor unit, except for the bottom work service 408F it is a tractor-trailer i.e. a tractor unit joined with a trailer. ln addition, the vehicle can also be designated as "Other work", referring to e.g. the manual labour of the driver.
Each piece of data on the work service comprises a possibility 430 for the user to add data on a new load where the vehicle transporting the load of the transport job is the same and the load of the same type as in the work service data. The device is arranged to receive the added data and to add the data on the new work service into connection with the previous work service on the same row. The data on the work service can show 432 the number and quantities of the loads.
The aggregate view comprises a possibility 432 for the user to add data on a new work service where the load of the transport job has a billing basis dif- ferent from some other work service in the aggregate view. The device is arranged to receive the added data and to add the received data in the aggregate view onto a different row.
The device is arranged to store several aggregate views to the memory. By means of this feature, several aggregate views can be dealt with e.g. during the same day one at a time. The driver can e.g. fill one aggregate view with work services in the morning, be on a second work site filling another aggregate view at the noon, and return in the afternoon to the morning's work site and collect work services in the same aggregate view as in the morning.
The aggregate view can be stored to the device as a template. Then when creating a new aggregate view, the device provides a possibility to load a previously stored aggregate view for a template. ln this way, there is no need to fill in all the data in the aggregate view again.
Fig. 5 shows a specification window 500 for a new work service, by means of which, the device can receive data on the new work service. The device can show the window 500 on the display of the user interface 208.
The specification window 500 for the new work service can comprise the following fields, for instance: 502A-502C: vehicle type. Here it is also possible to specify that the work service is something else than transport, such as the driver's manual labour at the work site. 504A, 504B: load billing basis (e.g. either volume or weight). 508: clarification, e.g. specification of manual labour 510: starting point 512: end point 514: load quantity 516: load collection time 518: driven distance 520: possible additional information 522: start time.
When receiving the data on the work service e.g. by means of the win- dow 500, a part of the data can be added automatically based on previously re- ceived work service data.
The work services collected by the device 100, 102 can be stored on the server 104. This can be done e.g. at the end of the work day.
The mobile device according to the invention enables the entering of the work services flexibly from the vehicle directly at the work site. Thus, the maintenance of way bills is facilitated and the measures performed earlier at the office in connection with the server can be entered to the system quickly and reli- ably already at the work site.
Those skilled in the art will find it obvious that, as technology advances, the basic idea of the invention can be implemented in many different ways. The invention and its embodiments are thus not restricted to the examples described above but may vary within the scope of the claims.
