Abstract

Disclosed is an image-processing computer system (30) and method for facilitating estimation of volumes of load of a truck (20) moving on a surface (7). The method comprises image processing of one or more 3D images captured of the truck (20) by a first camera (11), into a 3D point cloud, determining a vertical plane representing a first side (20a) of the truck from the 3D point cloud, the determined vertical plane being the most common denominator of a majority of points of the 3D point cloud (110), and warping an image captured of the truck (20) simultaneously as the 3D image, around the determined vertical plane so that the image seems to have been captured from a virtual camera positioned at a position substantially horizontal to the truck load at a predetermined distance from the determined vertical plane. Hereby, sizes of loads of trucks can be more correctly determined from images, as the warped images show loads from same distance and direction irrespective of distance and direction that trucks actually drive by cameras.
