Abstract

A method is disclosed of identifying associated parts of a software code in relation to first and second versions of the software code, wherein the second version is more recent than the first version and the second version comprises an alteration compared to the first version. The method comprises identifying first respective parts of the software code comprised in the first version of the software code and second respective parts of the software code comprised in the second version of the software code, wherein the parts comprise code semantically relevant portions of the first and second versions of the software code, and retrieving a first plurality of names associated with the first respective parts and a second plurality of names associated with the second respective parts. The method also comprises (for a first name comprised in the first plurality of names and not comprised in the second plurality of names and a second name comprised in the second plurality of names and not comprised in the first plurality of names) comparing the first respective part associated with the first name to the second respective part associated with the second name to determine a code similarity metric, identifying the second respective part as an alteration of the first respective part when the code similarity metric fulfills a code similarity criterion, and generating a signal indicative of association via alteration between the second respective part and the first respective part.Corresponding arrangement, control node and computer program products are also disclosed.
