Abstract

Disclosed is a carbonylation process comprising subjecting at least one olefin to hydroformylation in presence of a syngas, comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen, at least one Group VIII transition metal catalyst or catalyst precursor and at least one phosphite ligand of Formula (1)and at least one sacrificial ligand selected from the group consisting of tertiary phosphines, such as triaryl phosphines, dicycloaikylarylphosphines and/or cycloalkyldiarylphosphines. In a further aspect the present invention refers to a ligand mixture comprising at least one phosphite ligand of Formula (I) and at least one said sacrificial ligand.
