Abstract

A headphone (10) configured to be placed at, or in, the ear of a user and comprising an acoustic transducer (4) configured to generate acoustic pressure and comprising a diaphragm (4.1) having a central diaphragm opening (4.13) and a chassis (4.2) having a central circumferential wall (4.25) forming a central through opening (4.26), wherein central diaphragm opening (4.13) of the diaphragm (4.1) is aligned with the central through opening (4.26) of the chassis (4.2), and- a microphone device (5) having a receiving portion (5.1) arranged to detect acoustic pressure (ap) within the earphone (10) and to generate a detection signal (ds) in response to the detected acoustic pressure (ap); and- an electronic device (6) configured for active acoustic adaptation, wherein- at least a portion of the microphone device (5) extends within the central trough opening (4.26) of the chassis (4.2).
