Abstract
The present invention relates to a thermostat device for a cooling system in a vehicle. The cooling system comprises a component line (3, 5) delivering coolant to or from a component (2) to be cooled, a radiator line (13, 16) delivering coolant to or from a radiator (14) and a bypass line (12) delivering coolant past the radiator (14). The thermostat device comprises a thermostat (7) including a housing (17, 22) and a valve body (18, 23) movably arranged inside the housing (17, 22) between a bypass position in which a flow passages is formed through the thermostat (7) between the component line (3, 5) and the bypass line (12) and a radiator position in which a flow passage is formed through the thermostat (7) between the component line (3, 5) and the radiator line (13, 16). The valve body (18, 23) is positionable in at least two bypass positions in which bypass passages of different sizes are formed through the thermostat (7) and in at least two radiator position in which radiator passages of different sizes are formed through the thermostat (7).(Fig. 3a)
