Abstract

A channel system for optimising the ratio of pressure drop to heat, moisture and mass transfer of gases flowing through the channel system, comprises channels (1) with flow converters (2) extending transversely to the channels. The flow converter (2) comprises an upstream portion (3) and a downstream portion (4) , said upstream portion (3) extending in the flow direction at an inclination from one side of the channel (1) to the opposite side of the channel (1) , and said downstream portion (4) extending in the flow direction from the transition (5) between said upstream portion (3) and said downstream portion (4) at an increasing distance from said opposite side of the channel (1) . The height of the channels 81) is less than 4 mm. The transition (5) between said upstream portion (3) and said downstream portion (4) is essentially direct.
