Abstract

The disclosure relates to a moisture-absorbing device which comprises an upper chamber (2) and a lower chamber (1). The upper chamber (2) contains a moisture-absorbing agent (3), such as a salt mixture, which absorbs moisture and condensation from the ambient air. The lower chamber (1) collects the liquid drained from the upper chamber (2). The upper chamber (2) consists of an air- and liquid-tight material (7) which may abut against the surfaces (12) of a moisture-sensitive space, as well as an air-and liquid-permeable material (6). The lower portion (8) of the upper chamber (2) is secured interiorly in the upper mouth portion (9) of the lower chamber (1) by means of welds (14) at opposing edges of the chamber (1). The disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing the moisture-absorbing device. A first hose (18) is cut into predetermined lengths, whereafter it is closed or sealed in one end. Thereafter, a second hose (19) is produced from two different materials which are sealed along their longitudinal edges (15) and in one end. The closed end (13) of the second hose (19) is then passed into and fixed in an open portion (9) in the first hose (18), whereafter the second hose (19) is given a filling of a moisture-absorbing agent (3). Finally, a suspension device (17) is fixed in the open end (23) of the second hose (19).
