Abstract

A permeate tube comprises at least one tubular unit, which has spaced substantially along the unit's length several of permeate transfer devices; and at least one external grooves forming flow channels connecting the permeate transfer device. Each tubular optionally has at least a part of polygonal inner side cross-section. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a spiral wound membrane cartridge comprising the permeate tube around which at least one permeate transfer leaves, membrane leaves and space leaves are wound; and (2) manufacturing of the permeate tube involving pouring or injecting polymeric material into molds having negative transcripts of at least one grooves forming flow channels and negative transcripts of several of permeate transfer devices; forming units having two end-parts, units having one end-part and one fitting-part, and/or units having two fitting-parts; and optionally joining at least two molded tubular units end-to-end.
