Abstract

A plate type heat exchanger with improved flow has a pattern of ridges (31) and grooves (32) between the central heat exchanger area (18) and the primary (21) and secondary (23) connections. The length of the grooves and ridges is less than the spacing between the primary/secondary connections and the central area with the grooves at right angles to the ridges. The ridges reach to the top wall of the plate while the grooves reach to the bottom wall of the plate. The short ridges and grooves are set at right angles to each other to ensure a good mixing of the flow.
