Abstract

An automatic system comprises catheters having a three-way junction connected to a first catheter, a second catheter, and a sample-taking end; a valve having an inlet for immiscible fluid to be aspirated into the first catheter; and pumping devices to aspirate an amount of immiscible fluid into the first catheter and to move the amount of immiscible fluid to the three-way junction. - An automatic system comprises catheters (C-A, C-B) having a three-way junction (C-J) configured to be located proximate to a sample site (SS) and connected to a first catheter, a second catheter, and a sample-taking end (C-TE); a valve connected to the first catheter and having an inlet for an immiscible fluid to be aspirated into the first catheter; and pumping devices (P-A, P-B) connectable to the catheters to aspirate an amount of immiscible fluid into the first catheter and to move the amount of immiscible fluid to the three-way junction and arrange a first part of immiscible fluid in a part of second catheter and a second part of immiscible fluid in a part of first catheter. The first and second parts of immiscible fluid separate a taken sample from the rinsing fluid. - Independent claims are also included for: - (1) automatic taking a fluid sample from a sample site of a living test object by supplying a rinsing fluid to catheters, aspirating an amount of immiscible fluid into the catheters, moving the amount of immiscible fluid to a three-way junction of catheters, moving a first part of immiscible fluid towards an opening of a sample-taking end, withdrawing a fluid sample, arranging a second part of immiscible fluid after the taken sample, moving the taken sample in the catheters to a sample-delivery end at a sample tube, delivering the taken sample to the sample tube, and rinsing the lumens of catheters by providing a flow of rinsing fluid through the catheters; - (2) a computer program product for use in an automatic system for taking fluid sample from a sample site of living test object, comprising computer code portions configured to realize means and functions of the above method; and - (3) a set of disposables for use in automatic system for taking fluid sample from a sample site of living test object.
