Abstract

The invention relates to an illumination apparatus comprising an illumination device (3;5) for emergency and guidance illumination and which also can comprise at least one ordinary light fitting (2), the illumination device being connected to a light source. According to the invention the light source is a light emitting diode (6), a reflector (9) being designed by means of computer calculations and mounted around the light emitting diode, the light emitting diode being connected to a printed circuit (12), which in its turn is connected to an emergency illumination assembly (4), which is connected to one or several batteries (7) and to a power supply (24) respectively. The emergency illumination assembly is designed to, when the line voltage is disconnected, automatically connect the light emitting diode (6) to the current supply from the battery and disconnect it when the line voltage is restored.
