Abstract

Composite layer (or sandwich) structures and composite layer (or sandwich) materials of at least one first and at least one second cover sheet (layer) (10, 11), between which a core (or intermediate) sheet (layer) (20) is provided are disclosed. By embedding one or more wire-like elements (24; 241, 242) into the core sheet (20) which run substantially in the plane of the core sheet (20), new properties and new or extended applications are achieved for those composite layer structures.
