Abstract
Production of a roller bearing metal component comprises heat treating at a defined temperature to harden the component, processing the component by cutting or without cutting at room temperature to produce its final geometry and the required surface condition, and grinding the component with the introduction of heat at a temperature above 80 degrees C and below the tempering or microstructure conversion temperature.
