Abstract
The fuel comprises alkylated monocyclic naphthenes having a 5-6C ring and one or more chains containing 3-15 C atoms bonded to a C atom in the ring via a single bond, in addition to acyclic alkanes and standard additives. A liquid fuel for diesel engines having a boiling point of 160-360 degreesC comprises: (a) 10-50 % alkylated monocyclic naphthenes having a 5-6C ring and one or more chains containing 3-15 C atoms bonded to a C atom in the ring via a single bond; (b) 50-90 % acyclic alkanes; and (c) standard additives, e.g. lubricant or diesel-compatible oxygenators.
