Abstract

The invention relates to a sailing rig for a sailing boat (1) having a stem (5) and a stern (7). The sailing rig (9) comprises a mast (11) extending along a first axis, and a boom (13) having a first and a second end, and extending outwardly from the mast. The first end of the boom is in the vicinity of the mast and the boom is rotateable around the first axis. The sailing rig (9) further comprises a sheet (15), a first attachment member (17) arranged to attach the sheet in the boom, and a second attachment member (19) connected with the boat and arranged to hold the sheet in a position, the sheet, in an active state, being arranged to secure the position of the boom (13). The boom is rotateable at least one turn around the first axis. The sheet is positionable in said state, before and after rotation of the boom ahead of the mast, in which state the sheet is extendable straight between the attachment members. The invention also relates to a method for rotating a boom.
