Abstract

A pre-determined contour model (5) is adapted to a three-dimensional image (1) of the organ. An Independent claim is also included for a method for measuring the contours of an organ inside a patients body by adapting a pre-determined contour model to a two-dimensional or three-dimensional image, detecting the number of points (8) in the image which correspond to those (7) in the model and adapting the model on the basis of the points detected in the image, whereby the points in the model corresponding to the detected points in the image represent only a fraction of the points.
