Abstract
A modulation mode to be used between the transmitter and the receiver is determined in response to a retransmission request. The coded bits obtained by encoding data into systematic bits and parity bits, are distributed. If the determined modulation mode is different from the initial modulation mode, the coded systematic and parity bits corresponding to the determined mode are modulated into symbols which are then transmitted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) data retransmitting apparatus; (2) retransmitted modulated symbols reception method; and (3) retransmitted modulated symbols receiving apparatus.
