Abstract
Hot gases generated during catalytic combustion are used to heat the fuel mixture being supplied to the catalyst (1). A combustion device, for installing in a vehicle, includes a catalyst for catalytic combustion of the fuel mixture which generates heat during combustion. The device supplies at least some of this heat to at least one component in the vehicle. A recovery pipe (7) transfers at least some of the heat from the catalyst to the fuel mixture, by adding some of the hot gases generated during catalytic combustion to the fuel mixture.
