Abstract
The method involves making a liquid flow through a capillary form forming drops at the end of the capillary. In the step of making the liquid flow through the capillary the drops are formed in a closed space containing the fluid. The method further involves measuring the pressure of the fluid in the closed space or measuring the difference between this pressure and the pressure in the liquid in the capillary to provide a pressure signal while the liquid is flowing through the capillary and forms drops. The pressure signal is evaluated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an instrument for measuring the surface tension at the interfacial surface between a liquid and a fluid.
