Abstract

The chair is especially suitable for the physically handicapped and/or people suffering from involuntary reflex movement and has a height adjustable seat (2) and a height adjustable back-rest (3) which can be moved in the seat length direction in order to alter seat depth. A leg-rest (5) which can be separately adjusted relative to the seat is used to support the front sides of the knee and lower leg and to provide a support surface (6) for the back of the knee. The leg-rest can be adjusted according to the user's femur length (E), hip angle (M) and femur abduction/adduction angle (F) when the user is sitting astride the chair.
