Abstract

A cooling or heating medium is made to flow over the tubes (1), which are fixed into position by a fluid-permeable device (4). The gas distribution box is formed by two plates (41, 42), the first plate (41) having protruding pipe connections for the tubes, whilst the second plate (42) has an elongated groove (43) facing the first plate in the pipe connection region. A metal hydride reactor device comprises a number of parallel tubes arranged side by side, which contain a metal hydride (30). The tubes are closed at one end and connected to a gas distribution box at the other end (12), so that hydrogen can be transported to and from the metal hydride. A device is provided for directing a flow of fluid in an axial direction over the tubes. A fluid-permeable device is also provided for fixing the tubes into position. The gas distribution box is formed by two substantially parallel abutting plates, the first plate having protruding pipe connections for the tubes, whilst the second plate has an elongated groove on the side facing the first plate, in the pipe connection region.
