Abstract
The steel contains carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium, titanium, aluminum and niobium, in addition to trace amounts of iron. A tough tempered tool-grade steel for rolled or forged products comprises 0.17-0.55 wt.% carbon, 0.3-1.2 wt.% silicon, 0.2-1.4 wt.% manganese. 0.005 wt.% sulfur, 0.7-2.5 wt.% chromium, 0.3-3.25 wt.% nickel, 0.15-0.4 wt.% molybdenum, 0.08-0.5 wt.% vanadium, 0.01-0.2 wt.% titanium, 0.01- 0.08 wt.% aluminum, 0.06 wt.% niobium, 10-30 ppm boron, 0-100 ppm nitrogen and the balance iron.
