Abstract

An expandable plug (3) is inserted into the pipe (1) from one end using a spacer tube secured inside the plug by a bayonette coupling and an Allen key rotatably mounted inside the tube. The plug comprises two faces and an elastic intermediate piece held together by an Allen screw, which when turned by the Allen key, presses the faces together so that the elastic material expands to form a tight seal against the inside of the pipe.
