Abstract

The present invention provides an absorbent article, selected from the group con-sisting of a sanitary napkin, a panty liner, and an interlabial menstruation protection device, wherein the article is suitable for administrating a pharmaceutical substance. In one embodiment, the pharmaceutical substance is suitable for treating, mitigating and/or preventing the premenstrual syndrome. The article comprises an absorbent body and has a generally elongated shape. The article has a first surface which is intended to face the wearer, and it has a second surface which is intended to face away from the wearer. The first surface, which is intended to face the wearer, is at least partially covered with a transdermal therapeutic system containing a compound suitable for treating and/or preventing the pre-menstrual syndrome, whereby said compound is transdermally administrated to the wearer when said article is worn.
