Abstract
The invention relates to a metallic powder blend and to a method for producing strong and durable products by free form forming via CAD-controlled layer by layer bonding of the power particles mutually and with the previous layer. The characteristic feature of the invention is that the pulverous blend comprises at least one powder of a second metal alloy with a different, i.e. lower, melting point than the first alloy. The product is given its final hardness and durability by a subsequent precipitation hardening. The precipitation hardening metal alloy is either iron- or copper-based.
