Abstract

The device for reducing shock waves during launching a space vehicle (2) comprises an annular unit (5) designed to deliver a radially inward force (F) to hold together the first (3) and second (4) parts of the vehicle by means of flanges (1,6). The first flange has an annular weakening (9) for reducing the energy absorption capacity during bending inwards by the radial force.
