Abstract

A system (1) for establishing with the aid of a telecommunications network (3) the extent to which a television channel selecting device (4) included in a plurality of such system-associated devices is switched on or off and in the event f being switched on determining the television channel that is being viewed or used at that time. The calling channel selecting unit (4) is connected to the telecommunications network (3). The unit (4) is adapted for calling a telephone number (B2) corresponding to a chosen television channel, and a called unit (5b, B2) corresponding to said telephone number is adapted to register initiated calls without causing a speech connection to be established through the telecommunications network (3).
