Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for producing cellulose from a ligno-cellulosic material, wherein said method involves submitting this material to a high-temperature process in a sulfate alkali medium while acting on the alkali using an electric current. This action involves applying high-voltage pulsed electric discharges, wherein the mixture of sulfate alkali and ligno-cellulosic material is submitted to said action. The method also involves feeding air or pressurised pure oxygen into the sulfate alkali.
