Abstract

The invention relates to a nucleotide sequence molecule comprising a structural gene encoding a TGB-2 polypeptide from PMTV, which differs from the wild-type TGB-2 polypeptide, the nucleotide sequence molecule in a plant transformation vector suitable for transformation of a plant cell and the plant transformation vector in a procaryotic cell. The invention also relates to a transformation method to transfer the nucleotide sequence molecule in the plant transformation vector into a plant cell, identification of the transgenic plant cell and regeneration of a plant from the transgenic plant cell. The invention also relates to a molecular marker for the detection of the transgenic cell, plant or product obtained from the plant or containing parts of the plant.
