Abstract
The present invention relates to a solar collector of the type which is uniaxial-concentrating and comprises a trough-like reflector (1) made of a thin sheet, an elongate absorber (2) located in the reflector trough, a transparent cover plate (3) arranged over the reflector trough, and a supporting body which supports the reflector of a desired cross-sectional shape. The body comprises a body element (4) of an optional material, which is formed as a trough having a trough body surface (5) which essentially conforms with the intended shape of the reflector. The trough body surface is provided with projecting abutment portions (6, 6') serving to abut against the rear side of the reflector and support this at a certain minimum and preferably uniform distance from the trough body surface, so that cooling air ducts (7) are formed between the trough body surface and the rear side of the reflector. The body element has low inlets (8) and high outlets (9, 9') for cooling air, which communicate with each other via the cooling air ducts so that a current of air increasing with temperature arises by autoconvection when heated air rises in the cooling air ducts and flows out through the outlets while comparatively cool air flows in through the inlets and cools the rear side of the reflector.
