Abstract
The lens arrangement has a spherical lens (20) and a coupling ring (12,14) that holds and positions the lens in relation to the optical axis of an optoelectronic transducer in the form of a hollow volume laser emitting vertically from a surface or a VCSEL. The transducer is an optical receiver and is mounted centrally on a circular head piece. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of coupling optical energy from a VCSEL into an optical waveguide.
