Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement (1) for determining the weight of a sectional part (2a) of a readily flexed and elongated object (2), such as a line or chain, during a measuring process. The elongated object (2) is arranged to pass a number of guide rollers or the like (12, 11, 13, 14), such as a first and a second guide roller. The guide rollers (11, 12) are spaced mutually apart and said part or section (2a) is arranged to stretch in an arcuate form or configuration towards a force measuring device (3), which functions to measure the tensile force in the object (2) generated by said part or session (2a), at least adjacent one guide roller (11). The measuring device (3) includes calculating circuits (3a) for converting tensile force related signals to signals relating to the total weight of the sectional part.
