Abstract

The machine has a press part (18) for squeezing at least part of the ring (12) so that it is small enough to be inserted into the pipe. A device is also provided for introducing the compressed ring into a position where it is dead centre with the groove, at which point the press part releases its grip so that the ring can spring into place inside the groove.
