Abstract

The method is for drying timber in a mobile drier with circulation of gas-form drying medium forwards in the longitudinal direction of the drier. The drier has several zones, through which the timber is moved forward in several stages, with the drying medium part flow being at least partly recirculated after adjustment of its humidity and temperature. The drying medium flow in a single zone or in several zones, at least in the last zone for the timber, is directed towards the timber movement direction. At least the part flow of the drying medium fed into the single or last zone for the timber is regulated with regard to humidity and temperature in accordance with a time-connected scheme. This scheme is essentially unalterably repeated at intervals which correspond to the intervals between the timber stagewise forward feed through the drier.
