Abstract

A setting selected from a list by a user is checked to see whether it corresponds to a software module which is not accessible in the communication device memory (8) and if this is the case the communication device (1) sends a message with a request to an application server (5) via a wireless communication network (2-4) in order to download the selected module into the memory. The setting is altered by installing the selected module, so that the communication device function is changed as requested. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Software product with software code component downloadable into communication device memory in order to carry out this method; and (2) Portable electronic communication device used to implement this method.
