Abstract
A system for enabling private mobile telephones to be used for telephoning to and from aircraft during flight includes an antenna loop (2) which is permanently installed in the passenger space (11) of an aircraft for establishing automatically short-range contact between passenger carried mobile telephones and the standard telecommunications equipment (3) of the aircraft. This short-range contact includes disconnection of the standard transmitter/receiver antenna of the passenger-carried mobile telephones for as long as telephones are within communicative reach of the permanent antenna loop (2), and the possibility of using the standard telecommunications equipment (3, 31) in the aircraft the passage-carried private mobile telephones that have been taken temporally onto the aircraft.
