Abstract

An absorbent article e.g. incontinence guard has a belt attached to its rear and front portions. A first belt portion carries a receiving material which serves as receiving area for attachment material arranged on second belt portion and on attachment mechanism. The attachment material is arranged on both first and second main surfaces of the mechanism when it is in an unfolded position. An absorbent article e.g. diaper and incontinence guard consists of liquid-pervious topsheet, liquid-impervious backsheet, and absorbent body enclosed between the sheets. The article has front, rear and crotch portions; and a belt attached to or intended to be attached to rear and front portions of the article, so that, the article assumes a pant-like shape where the belt forms a part of the waist portion. On both the inner and the outer sides of the belt, a first belt portion (9') carries a receiving material (12, 13) which serves as a receiving area for an attachment material (10) arranged on a second belt portion (9) and on an attachment mechanism(s) (8, 8') attached to the front portion. The receiving material enables re-attachment of the attachment material. The attachment material (8a, 8b, 8'a, 8'b) on the attachment mechanism is arranged on both first and second main surfaces of the mechanism when it is in an unfolded position, and the belt portion carries the receiving material on its entire outer and inner sides.
