Abstract
The syringe has a plunger that can be engaged with the needle set after completing an injection with the syringe, and the needle set can then be pulled into the barrel for storage. The needle set in the barrel will pose automatically obliquely for avoiding the needle cannula being accidentally exposed exterior of the barrel. The syringe has a cylindrical body with opposite ends formed into a nozzle and finger flange respectively. A plunger is telescopically located inside the barrel, with one end of it being provided with a rubber piston for forming tight contact with the sliding inside of the barrel, and its other end formed into a thumb rest. The needle hub (41,42) for anchoring a needle cannula, and an adapter (43) for receiving the hub. The needle set is telescopically placed inside the nozzle of the barrel with the cannula exposed to the barrel exterior. A needle sheath is located outside of the nozzle for shielding the cannula. The hub has male threading (44) for engaging female threading (45) on the adapter, the adapter having a base with a circumferential groove for receiving a rubber seal (48) forming a tight contact between the base and nozzle. The base (46) of the adapter is formed with a conical hole having a reducing diameter at its bottom, the hole surrounded by 3,4, or 6 symmetrically arranged clips (50). The clips are formed with angular portions slanting inwards for defining the profile of the conical hole (49), and a protrusion formed at a proper location on the base close to the conical hole. The rubber piston of the plunger is provided with a conical rod for being received into the conical hole of the adapter for mutual engagement.
