The method of positioning the point of the beam of an excimer laser during an eye operation by determining the optical axis of the eye using the selected reference points, the coordinates of which are communicated through a computer to the scanning system with the necessary corrections for producing the next laser pulse, characterized in that the selected reference points are determined to determine the optical axis of the eye in marks are applied to the cornea of the eye outside the surgical intervention area, and the coordinates of these points in space using two video cameras are transmitted to a computer, tory controls the scanning system in three dimensions, providing an excimer laser beam focus at the desired point on the projected two aligned apertures through which the rays pass diode lasers.
