The method for detecting hepatitis C virus in human serum, developed on the basis of a two-stage polymerase chain reaction, differs from the prototype in the composition of the proposed primers SU1 (5'-GTGCTTGCGAGTGC-3 '), ASU1 (5'-AGGGTRTCGATGAC-3'), SU2 (5 ' -GGAGGTCTCGTAGAACCGTG-3 ') and ASU2 (5'-GGTRTCGATGACYTTACCCA-3') corresponding to the most conservative parts of the hepatitis C virus genome, allowing to detect RNAs of all currently known virus genotypes and amplifying the same region of viral RNA, which is further used to determine the genotype of the virus.
