Способ импульсно-периодической ионной и плазменной обработки изделия, включающий генерацию плазмы, импульсное ускорение из нее ионов и многократное и поочередное облучение образца ускоренными ионами и плазмой, отличающийся тем, что генерацию плазмы осуществляют непрерывно, а соотношение доз облучения ускоренными ионами и плазмой регулируют за счет изменения частоты следования, длительности импульсов ускоряющего напряжения и изменением расстояния от источника до изделия.1. Устройство для осуществления способа по п.1, содержащее вакуумно-дуговой испаритель в виде коаксиальных и подключенных к источнику питания дуги наружного анода и внутреннего катода, снабженного узлом поджига дуги, и импульсную систему ускорения ионов из плазмы испарителя, отличающееся тем, что испаритель выполнен непрерывным с постоянным источником питания дуги и снабжен устройством очистки плазмы от микрокапельной фракции. 2. Устройство по п.3, отличающееся тем, что устройство очистки плазмы от микрочастиц, расположенное у открытого торца анода, выполнено в виде жалюзной системы электродов в виде коаксиальных усеченных полых конусов, причем угол конусности выбран так, что форма каждого из электродов близка к форме силовых линий магнитного поля в месте расположения электрода, и жалюзная система подключена к положительному выводу дополнительного источника напряжения, включенного между жалюзной системой и анодом испарителя. 4.
