Abstract

FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport; steering gears. SUBSTANCE: steering mechanism has housing 1 accommodating piston 5 with toothed rack 9 engaging with gear sector 10. Piston 5 is connected with screw shaft 12 through ball-and-screw drive 13. Shaft 12 is connected with spool 15 of working liquid distributor through torsion bar 28. Distributor spool is manually driven from steering wheel. Screw shaft 12 has section 36 enclosing sleeve 14 of distributor on part of its length. Thrust roller bearing 37 is installed between end face section 36 of shaft 12 and housing 1. Bearing 37 is located in recess made in housing 1. Thrust roller bearing 38 is installed at opposite end of shaft 12. EFFECT: provision of compact design with reliable supports for shafts.
