Abstract

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: remote-control pusher is designed to move in direct and opposite directions on rail track laid in front of slag hole of steel-making electric furnace. Telescoping boom is preferably hinge-mounted on pusher frame to enable its swinging in vertical plane. Front end of boom is provided with head or front plate. Frame may be fixed in place or installed movably over rails on wheels, at least two of them being drive wheels. Plate, size of which is to some degree smaller than size of the slag hole, is intended to hold scrap inside furnace, when the latter is being charged with scrap and to maintain the edges of this hole free of scrap without intervention of operator. EFFECT: improved safety of furnace operation.
