Abstract

FIELD: microbiological industry. SUBSTANCE: new strain - a producer of organic solvents, n-butanol and acetone, Clostridium acetobutylicum S-3716 "ВКПМ" B-5359, is proposed. Strain C. acetobutylicum "ВКПМ" B-5359 is selected by induced mutagenesis and the following selection of mutant clones on selective media. Strain C. acetobutylicum S-3716 "ВКПМ" B-5359 accumulates 22.0 g/l solvents (15.5 g/l n-butanol and 6.5 g/l acetone) in cultural fluid in the process of fermentation for 36-40 hr on medium containing sugar-beet molasses and mineral salts. Carbohydrate conversion to the end products is 40%. EFFECT: increased effectiveness of strain indicated above.

Claims (1)

40%.The invention relates to the microbiological industry.
