Abstract

FIELD: spectrometry, element analysis of powder materials. SUBSTANCE: device for spectral analysis includes two anodes, common cathode of quartz tube which houses cylinder with through axial hole (capillary) produced by pressing from powder of tested material. Discharge is fed from two independent power supply sources. Discharge in capillary between first anode and common cathode is used to evaporate material of walls of capillary and to atomize substance employed for their formation. Discharge between cathode and second anode is used to excite atoms of tested substance. Plasma from capillary is brought out by flow of gas into region of flow discharge and its radiation from this region is brought into special device. EFFECT: diminished limits of detection of elements during spectral analysis and improved metrological characteristics.

Claims (1)

The invention relates to spectral analysis and can be used in elemental analysis of powder materials. The invention is aimed at reducing the limits of detection of elements in spectral analysis and improving metrological characteristics. The device consists of two anodes, a common cathode of a quartz tube, into which a cylinder with a through axial hole (capillary) is obtained, obtained from the powder of the studied material by pressing. The discharge is powered from two independent voltage sources. A discharge in the capillary between the first anode and the common cathode serves to vaporize the material of the capillary walls and atomize the substance that forms them. The discharge between the cathode and the second anode serves to excite the atoms of the analyte. By a gas flow, the plasma from the capillary is carried out into the region of a glow discharge; its radiation from this region is discharged into a spectral device.
